Health Checks, Vintage Film, and the Elusive 10-Hour Sleep

Today I finally went in for a heart ultrasound. Sitting around and waiting for my turn gave me a splitting headache, but the news was mostly good: my heart is healthy. They did note three congenital anomalies, which sounded a bit intense until I used AI to summarize the medical jargon into something I could actually understand. By the time I got home, my energy was completely drained. I originally planned to sit down and read up on programming to keep pushing my skills forward, but I just didn't have the drive. The headache completely wiped out my motivation. Instead, I found myself putting on an old British Pathé documentary about Sicily. I have a huge soft spot for these old documentaries. They feel incredibly comforting, almost like a grandfather sitting you down and explaining how the world used to work. Plus, there's just something beautiful about nature captured on vintage film cameras—it has an aesthetic that is so distinct and calming. While trying to relax, I started thinking about rest. I am honestly amazed by my dad's superpower: the man can just close his eyes and instantly fall asleep whenever he wants, easily knocking out for 10 hours. I desperately want to learn how to do that. Sleep is so vital. Right now, I'm surviving on a bare minimum of six hours, but I remember when I used to get ten, and my body definitely misses it. I’ve also been thinking a lot about reviving my YouTube channel. I really want to start creating again, but I'm feeling a bit stuck on the gear. I need a good wireless microphone setup—something like the DJI or Hollyland systems—but looking at the prices, it's just completely out of my budget right now. It’s frustrating when you have the desire to create and grow, but you're missing the physical tools to do it. For today, though, I think I just need to figure out how to get some of that 10-hour sleep.
